Just messing with a script on our linux firewall to watch / block P2P traffic.
Seems like bittorrent makes a gob load of UDP connections when running, i downloaded ubuntu 10.10 and got about 600 UDP connections.....
So If i count UDP connections by NATted IP address, i'll see...
192.168.1.10 = 10
192.168.1.11 = 600
Skype also makes lots of UDP connections, but nothing like what bittorrent does from what I can see.
I may just visit the user at 192.168.1.11 and check that their PC is not being naughty.....
Thoughts from another geek please?
Cheers
Mac
