Just to make sure that each alias only sees their email, now all emails in the mailbox (have downloaded all documentation but nothing seems to cover this.

You got it wrong.

An alias is another email address used by an account. An account can have multiple aliases, and they are all visible to that account. For example I have freitasm@, mfreitas@, pr@ and other emails. These are all associated with my account and all come into the same mailbox.

If you have three people then each is one account. Each can have multiple different email aliases.

John Doe: sales@yourdomain, john.doe@yourdomain, johndoe@yourdomain, johnd@yourdomain
Jane Doe: finances@yourdomain, marketing@yourdomain

John Doe, Jane Doe are accounts. John Doe has four aliases and emails to those will all go into the same inbox. Jane has two aliases and emails to either will go to her inbox.

Other names for 'email aliases' is 'email forwarders', or 'email redirects' They do nothing more than redirect email sent to an email address, into another email mailbox. So you could have 10 forwarders going into one mailbox.
If you want each user to only see their own emails, then each user must have their own email 'account' or often referred to as a 'mailbox'. It is the number of mailboxes that matters, not the number of aliases.

I've been using Google Apps (free) for about 4 years now and I love it. All I pay for is the annual .com domain registration (About US$11).

Not sure why freitasm says ActiveSync isn't good, I have found it to be absolutely flawless. I have had no issues that I can recall with Google Apps, and I use it with Outlook (via IMAP), have used it on Apple iPhone and Android devices (With ActiveSync) for years and using the gmail web app (Mostly). Even used to use it with IMAP-IDLE on my old Symbian Nokia's a few years ago for push email and that worked great too.

No complaints at all.

Hi there, we do not charge GST in NZ on Office365 (nor other commercial online services) as the service is hosted out of Singapore.

We have also just reduced our pricing on most plans, you can view the new plans and pricing at:

Also be aware that Microsoft actually has several options:

1. Outlook.com - this is the replacement to Hotmail and is a very sleek rich web mail client. Its free to use and you can create custom domains for this at https://domains.live.com/ and use outlook.com, Windows Live desktop client, Windows 8 mail, Outlook and most smart phones.

You can also use Skydrive with Outlook.com - this also allows you to then store, access, share and edit documents/photos etc between Outlook.com, Skydive, Officewebapps, sync offline - you start off with 7GB of storage and can buy more as required www.skydrive.com

2. Exchange Online
If you want more fully featured messaging, contacts, calendar mgmt., security, antivirus, etc then the power and functionality of Exchange Server is un-surpassed - you have a few options:
a. Exchange Online standalone - $5.10 per month
b. Office365 - P plan is $7.70 per month, includes Exchange, Sharepoint, Lync, and Officewebapps

@paulb001, I'm confused, for Office 365 - is that monthly basis? I'd like clarification on this as we've just recently signed up a client on the old pricing plans for P1.

He can have his own domain with Windows Live Domains. See my earlier (April) post in this thread.

Windows Live Domains is similar to Google Apps. You have your own domain, email address, Skydrive, etc and can be used as a Windows ID.

An example of this is the GeekzoneMail we offer for free to our users who ask for it (actually thinking of making it automatic for all new users after a few posts). Yes, the screenshot is old, as it now uses the new look Outlook.com
