Indeed! Remember this is before I thought I got it all. I was pulling strings of what looked like a frilly bed cover and cat hair out of the heatsink before I removed this. It was a total mess elsewhere too. Looked like moisture damage under the touch pad, which was actually just fine dust caught under the plastic protectant on the bottom of the motherboard.
Part of the plastic extrusion that runs down the side of the laptop to keep it stable had tapered off the closer you got to the exhaust. It had actually melted back in to the original plastic, like someone had turned it back in to it's liquid form and smoothed it down haha!
Definitely a good result and learning experience most of all. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for this sort of thing in the future.
