Thanks all for the additional advice...although admittedly some of it was way too technical for me smile.   At this stage I think I will go with free parking 'createasite' option which includes hosting and access to the design software....seems like a happy medium for now so that I can get a site up and running!

Yeah. Webbly = good for starting. Wordpress = lots of learning. If you are just starting out in business then perhaps something a bit more "off the shelf" might be better so you can concentrate on your business rather than spending hours trying to get a good looking Wordpress site up and running.

I'm Big fan of squarespace

Give it a go, you can sign up now with just an email address have full access for 2 weeks (and if you like it but need more time you can often persuade them to extend the trial for you.) if you cant get it to work then you haven't had to pay anything to find that out.
