Lias: I'd always sort of assumed if the conflict wasn't resolved by today it would do so automatically, as far as I'm aware the party I'm in conflict with has never bothered taking any action. Seems they have eternity to do nothing, there is no timeout period so it will stay conflicted forever or until they stop using theirs.

*sigh*

Yeap. . In the UK I believe thy just gave people with the .co.uk domain the .uk domain, so .co.uk had priority.

Protip - I registered 10 domain names within 10 minutes with Metaname.

1) Load account with dosh.
2) Spend dosh on domain names for 1mo.
3) Rince, repeat.

Then, cancel those you don't want within 15mins for a refund or extend those you really want. No nagging for credit card details and it is 3 clicks of a mouse (and typing the domain) to register.

Some people don't like Metaname for their topup type system, me however thinks it is good since you can quickly register domains you've been watching.

I manage a specialised business.  We have a very specific set of business customers.  We don't actively market other than in trade publications and at trade conferences.

We have the [insertcompanyname].co.nz domain.

How much does it matter whether or not I get the .nz domain?

It's probably of no value/interest to anyone else?

Is there any reason to buy?

You can reserve .nz domains if you own the .co.nz etc. Reservation is free and gives you time to think about it and no one else can register it before you. Info in the link below.

So, is it correct that the conflicted domains stay conflicted forever? What if one or all of the current domain owners just ignore it, it's never resolved? How can I try to get this domain. I'm pretty sure neither of the owners really want/need it.
