For the last eight years or so I hosted dinner with friends at the Turkish restaurant around the corner from the Sky City. I am still waiting for Microsoft to confirm their own media dinner and will book for us to meet again on the free night.

UPDATE: Microsoft media dinner on Thursday so I am keen on doing our own dinner on Wednesday from 6pm Cafe Midnight Express, Victoria St West.

Please let me know if you are planning to join so I can book appropriately.

I'm in for dinner - will hopefully be able to bring a few shiny toys along.

freitasm, nope. Sorry, no hate at all intended! :-) Wasn't at all in the slightest meant to come across at all like that. :-o

But surely, slightly somewhat exaggerated for effect. Though my point remains, they're certainly aimed at very different demographics which goes some way towards explaining the substantial price difference between the two.

I'd be keen if it's not full already (I just got booked last week - hoping the hotel and travel will be taken care of in time)

Long time reader, first time poster. We have ended up with one ticket too many to Ignite NZ but it's past the cut off date so we can't get it refunded. PM me if anyone is interested. If no one comes forward I will put it up on Trademe next week.

Have fun!

One of my coworkers noticed in the smallprint that registration closes at midday on Tuesday. After that you need to check in at Vector but can't get the bag until the next morning. It looks like Wednesday morning will be a rush...

Meanwhile, I just tried the Ignite iOS app and had no luck whatsoever. It asks for a Microsoft account (using the Ignite account doesn't work) and then complains that there is no Ignite ticket associated with that account (which makes sense because the Ignite registration process doesn't ask for a Microsoft account). It looks like the app is only for Ignite US, but the description doesn't bother to mention whether that's actually the case or not.

Ugh going to be a rush.. land at 11:10, get in, register before 12, get in two exam cram sessions, book into hotel then get down to Vector.

Looks like I will be attending this year.  Just downloaded the WP app, and the splash screen mentions May 4-8th Chicago, so it may not be for NZ.

I wouldn't panic, last year was the same, a queue down the road to get registered. We realised there was no way the queue would clear before cut off so went to the pub for the afternoon then onto Vector after that. Next morning it took about 2 minutes to get the bag, all colours were still available.

Any word on who the band will be after the keynote?

I won a free keynote/party pass, so I'm dragging my brother along. Usually it would have been announced by now along with the odd leak about the bag. Maybe they've got better at keeping secrets this year. If the band is good, I would have thought promoting it earlier would be beneficial for selling keynote/party tickets.

I tried contacting @ignitenz last week, but haven't heard anything back yet.
