Just have to see when my email change and what happens with the three connections I use on a daily basis (Outlook 2013, Outlook (via Android) and Outlook.com)
If I have to change my domain over to Office365, then so be it as I have had a good couple of years of it being free.

Based on my experience (and thanks to UncleArthur) so far and what I have tested on my accounts that have been moved:

  • Outlook 2013 and 2016 will work using the alias trick mentioned earlier
  • Outlook on Android will just work. No alias required
  • Outlook.com (I'm assuming you mean via a web browser) will also just work, but the top left will read Outlook preview and you will see updated functionality

Thanks Allan, you're welcome.
Just to add to your list

Works on IOS with the outlook client, no alias required
Works on IOS with native mail client - however alias required for username.

Just set up an outlook.co.nz alias for "just in case"
