Crashplan is unlimited, it was only the transfer from Home to 'Pro' that was capped at 5GB due to some reason. I've stuck with Crashplan... I've tried so many different providers and they all charge me more for the storage I am using (about 3TB), I simply run a full linux distro in docker and have crashplan as part of the init script so that it always runs as I have it on my Synology unit. Everything is backed up to the NAS anyway so I cloudbackup from it.

CrashPlan is unlimited, but the EULA permits Code42 to set commercially reasonable limits. For Crashplan Home this was "i.e., 20TB" originally, reduced to 5TB in ~2016. For Crashplan Small Business, it's "e.g., 5TB". The slashing of what they deemed commercially reasonable and changing from id est (that is) to exempli gratia (for example) makes me question their ability to supply the storage I need long term at the rate I've been paying.

@Paul1977. It would seem this text no longer appears in the current agreement. That's not to say it isn't there in another form.
The information above was originally posted at the time CrashPlan Home was being phased out. I have received no notification from Code42 relating to any changes in T&C since moving to CrashPlan Small Business.
Crashplan had a 5TB limit for transferring from Home to Pro without needing to upload, as far as I was aware crashplan was unlimited data. I think the deduplication and block technology upload helps them save storage sizes as they probably dedupe across the entire arrays not just what you upload.

I had to re-upload about 15TB of data when I switched to CrashPlan Small Business. The 5TB limit for migration was different from the old "commercially reasonable" soft limit.
Data is encrypted before leaving your computer, limiting deduplication to client data sets.
