I have Fractal Design R5. I've had to put quite a bit of thin rubber dampers in there to stop vibrations - between the drive cages and the chassis, on the front air filter, and a few other places I don't remember. I probably wouldn't buy it again, but I'd look at newer models and see what reviews were like, because other than noise it's a good case with plenty of space and good cable routing. What I'd actually buy next time is anything by "Be Quiet" but not much is stocked in New Zealand, shipping can be US$200 :(

 

Interesting, I have the R5 as well and as long as I used the supplied rubber grommets I haven't had any audible vibrations - and that's with 8 spinning platters.

It was initially supplied with a few grommets short, and that made it vibrate. But when they sent me some more and I installed them it completely went away.

What it did find that when I installed a side fan it made a whirring noise as it pulled air through the metal grate. I solved this but cutting out the metal grate and installing a filtered fan cover instead. Quieter, keeps the dust out better, and looks just as good.

I came with 1 front and 1 rear fan standard, but I added a side fan (as mentioned above) and a second front fan.

I love the simple black monolithic look, and ample drive space. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

EDIT: Being an older case it doesn't have any USB-C ports ports on the front, but I'd imagine the newer ones do.
