One of the reasons I haven't migrated my own Exchange to Microsoft Online is the minimum five seats. I only really need two seats.

Amanzi, IIRC we can have multiple domain names per account, and multiple aliases per mailbox, is that correct? In my case I have @geekzone.co.nz, @freitasm.com and a couple of others, all going into the same mailbox/account on my Exchange.

I couldn't test this as I only had one spare test domain.

Yes, you can use multiple domain names per account and multiple aliases per mailbox. You can also have multiple distribution lists and can create 'resources' (like meeting rooms, etc) that don't count towards your seats.

I didn't know there was a 5 seat minimum, and I just had a quick scan and couldn't see that anywhere. Where did you see the 5 seat limit?

There's I can't remember but look at the pricing. It's a per seat price, with a minimum five buy in.

I found it in the FAQ:

Q: Is there a minimum purchase requirement? What is the minimum number of seats that must be ordered for an add-on order?
A: There is a 5-seat minimum purchase requirement for an initial order and one seat for any add-on orders.

If there wasn't this seat minimum I'd buy now. My other users here don't need Exchange and I would be happy to migrate them to Windows Live Domains.

You can still use MOS without the sign-in application but it's just a little tricky to initially set up, and you'll have to enter your password each time you use Outlook. But I'm not sure that Outlook 2003's RPC over HTTP feature is compatible with Windows 2000, so I don't think you'd be able to use Outlook 2003 on Windows 2000 properly. If you really wanted to, you could still use OWA which is purely browser based.

Of course, I don;t use Outlook 2003 either :) but OWA works like a charm.

Now I'm in, it really is quite a neat solution.
