Can you switch to a cutdown version of your site to minimise page/image sizes etc? I cant remember if Apache has an option to reduce session timeouts, which could stop your server opening so many sessions until out of memory. But if you dont need international users, why not just temporarily refer them to some other website "until further notice", probably the singtel website. :) If attackers include a whole bunch of compromised net cafes then Singtel wont be able to do much, but they might still take an interest. Attacks used to come from Korean net cafes alot, but seems like they must have clamped down on them.
