I asked the Airwatch guy about the cost from Apple and he said they don't charge the $400 anymore, it is now free.

yeah Airwatch is the only MDM solution ive heard of that requires an Apple Developer account, why is it required? is it just to deploy in company apps or something?

It's a unique ID for your business that is recognized all over the world. Apparently every business in Australia needs a DUNS number to operate.

That's correct. Last year, you had to the get the dev enterprise account in order to use airwatch but now you can use any Apple ID to create that APNS certificate verified so no need to get spend NZ$400 unless you want to deploy in house apps on iOS devices.

Is MDM really needed if you have an Exchange server? Security is automatic once a user connects to Exchange (assuming you have set it up).

Depends on your needs. Exchange server/Active sync policies will only let you wipe the device or set a pass code. With MDM you can track the device, create custom profiles, block apps, clear passcodes etc. Not all policy's available via active sync work on these new devices like 'lock camera'

So does anyone have any pricing details for this new MDM from Vodafone?

I'm currently running the AirWatch trial so now would be a good time to look at this.

Isnt the Vodadfone MDM solution Airwatch anyway? or do you mean signing up with them for a better price on the same product?

If it is just rebranded AirWatch then there won't be much point as I doubt it will be cheaper.
