I am never sure about those $1 auctions. I reckon it would be my luck to want $800 for it and only get $97 lol

Yes, they're always a gamble.  I look at what other similar items have sold for before I do it.  If there are only single buyers for similar items then I don't do it.

Another option is to list it with $800 on it and if you get a lot of watchers but no bids relist it at a very low start price when you relist.  It's amazing what people will pay if they get caught up in the auction.

If what I'm selling is obscure enough and small I'll sell it on ebay instead of trademe.

Nope, ebay for a US buyer.  Remember I said small, it was for things like a 1gb compact flash hard disk.

No chance of even finding a buyer on Trade Me.  US$20 on ebay plus postage and since it is small the postage is no more than internal US postage so no obstacle to the buyer.

Ok I am having another look at this server and am wondering if anyone can tell me this:

If one of the 2 CPU fans dies, would that stop the system from booting up?

Would it make it act as dead as a doornail?

It is bugging me because this system was working when it was unplugged from the workplace, (I was the one that went to the workplace and turned it off and unplugged it) but when we get it back to the warehouse it no longer powers on.

This was a matter of a few days between instances.

Could 2 power supplies just up and die like that??

I am really having a hard time finding anyone that has one of these PSU's in Chch to test it too.
