I don't know what other companies are doing, but here's a peak at this year's Intergen theme:

OmniouS:
reven: just registered, boy are the bag options crap this year.

I picked up the travel bag this morning. I quite like it actually - it's come in quite useful already

Most comments I've seen have been positive. People generally seem to be liking the change. Of course we can't please everyone... backpack/messenger/large/small/funky/plain... there have been a few over the years.

My favourite 'workhorse' bag was/is the 2013 messenger. Even if Juha didn't seem to like it much.  It fits my Lenovo X1, my Surface Pro 3, Surface RT and more.  (I've actually squeezed 9 devices in there before!)  My other go-to bag was the 2012 edition backpack. Tough and spacious, great for extended trips out of town.

Some photos from around the floor on first day.

Intergen (disclosure: I work at Intergen as well) is running a Halo competition with daily prizes, plus the final with a Xbox One, Halo 5 launch day and other stuff - including photos with Master Chief during the breaks.

2degrees is providing some good coffee - truly. Cogent has a competition where you can take a photo with their surfboard and be in to win the board and vouchers, others running multiple giveaways - just ask the folks in each stand.

The best non-technical talk yesterday was the story telling one, about the Microsoft Stories page - an interesting page, and heaven for marketers or for people who wants to add stories to their projects.

Had our Geekzone dinner last night, with 16 people. We have been going to the same place for the last eight years and when Nate commented "I want to have the same thing I had last year, what was that?" the waiter turned around and said "You had the mix [something] last year". And of course a walk to Giapo afterwards.

Sounds like notoriety to me!

Just for some "expectation setting", my shirt took 25 hours.

dacraka: This will be my first Ignite, does everyone get one of these at registration, or how does this work?

Everyone with a full ticket gets one.

just want to emphasis the one  (its not a set, you choose, first-in first-served)

Looks like there are still many, many bags left at reception. What happens to these?
