The photo is UFB prices and they seem to be to good to be true.

That's to boost the speed. Base plans are $69 for 80GB and $89 for unlimited.

So unlimited 200/20 would be $89 + $30.

$10 off if you're a pay monthly customer.

The new plans are cheaper than what I currently pay for 200/200 on Snap.

So big question which I cannot find an answer for on the website, how do existing Snap customers transition over to these new plans? Hope there is a good deal (promo code?) or a simple sign-up and switch over.

I'd be happy to commit for another 12 months.

It looks like the web site is still a little bit of a work in progress. I was unable to login to the Phone Settings page (Snap Plus portal). All the other things I tried seemed to work, but a lot of the old help pages seem to be missing.

The prices are down a significantly. I am on 200/200 fibre with static IP and phone at present, for $184/month. On the new prices, that seems to come down to $159/month. And if I move my mobile to 2degrees also, there is another $10 off, which would offset the difference in price from the $19/month I have with Spark Prepay at the moment to 2degrees $29/month and give me more data and minutes plus data rollover. However, 2degrees mobile coverage is not as good as Spark's, so I am not sure yet if that would be a good idea for me as I need good coverage when I am out at Himatangi Beach and at my place in Lower Hutt as well as at home in Palmerston North.

The price of the FritzFons also seems to be greatly reduced ($89), but maybe that is only if you buy when you join.

When logged into to the broadband section of the My 2 Degree's there's an option on the summary page to 'Change My Plan' which gives you the two options. I haven't followed it further but I assume it will take you through some sort of signup process so you can link your mobile account etc?

The problem we have is I bet we wouldn't be able to change plans without having to select one of the new speed profiles (we're on 100/50 and quite happy with that).

Interesting to see 2Degree's have taken the route of other triple play providers and attached a TV streaming service promo to their offers.

Had a look and followed it most of the way through. I'm on 200/200 with a static IP so really the difference for me would be the reduced pricing as its a bit more at the moment. But no special offers for existing customers. I cannot upgrade my Fritz!Box or get the Neon package? :(

How come the only two plans available are up to 30Mbps? Do existing customers get the Neon TV thingy?

Awesome! When I try and change though it seems there's not an option to get a plan without modem? I already have a perfectly good fritzbox - but the only options it gives is to pay for a new one, or sign up for a contract to get a free one?

UFB coverage in all* areas now! Snap wasn't available everywhere so this is a nice improvement :)

PS. Am I correct in assuming that the 2degrees service is still VLAN tagged and using PPPoE? I want to make sure that my list is up-to-date.

*I've only checked Chorus areas.

Its a little confusing. Those are the base plans and then you can have add-ons.

Thanks. I cannot see anywhere to upgrade my Fritzbox and get the Neon package. How does one do this?

Could be wrong, but I doubt those new 'free' modems are going to be Fritzboxes, based on the price (free on a 12 month contract, $150 on open term) vs how much Snap used to charge for them.

Bit weird there is no option to have 'no modem', especially with the open term option.

Otherwise, the plans looks pretty decent.

ok has the phone number changed , tried the 0800 BROADBAND one and it went straight to the office of Snap, looking on site i see the contact number is 0800 022 022. i dont want mobile.

ok tried again and number worked, glitch?

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Indeed they are AVM devices. Our volumes have increased exponentially (we hope!!) so we've been able to get much improved pricing, which we are passing on.

BYOD is not available for launch, although we will review this again in a few months.

We think the plans stack up pretty well on their own - but become incredibly compelling if you bundle a Pay Monthly mobile with them as well.
