link?

ETA:ah found it
http://www.snap.net.nz/home/naked/step3

sounds like you'll be able to buy a bolt on that gives you unlimited access to x website

e.g. $10 for unmetered youtube,  $3 for unmetered facebook,  etc etc

pretty cool.  if the price is right I would definitely buy a youtube one.  I get through about 20GB of youtube every month.

well, good luck to them, but history shows these slow to a crawl after being oversold, will watch with interest.

Doesn't indicate they're offering a true unmetered plan, just unmetered access to some specific sites. I don't see this being an issue, but it'll be fantastic for those users who like legit content from iTunes.

Providing they buy sufficient international data, which some ISP's have not done in the past.

Snap have google/youtube caching hardware/servers (like Telecom, Telstraclear and Orcon) so shouldn't be a big deal to un-meter that.

Pretty sure they also have akamai servers in their core network too so should be fine for iTunes and static resources from Facebook.

Are they still offering Snap nights?

Not sure I like the "net neutrality" implications of + $x/month for un-metered access to y service... Why not +$x/month for un-metered to anything that is coming from servers in Snap's core network (ie; own network local traffic as opposed to domestic or international)?

Less marketing appeal I guess.

Consider Xnet don't count usage for local/own network traffic and neither do most ISP's in AU.

I moved from Slingshot to Snap last week - as have several of my friends within the last month - Snap will be moving me onto the new plans. However my fear now is that Snap will simply become another Slingshot, bogged down and slow due to all the extra users. At the moment the $5 unlimited for 3 nights is great - looks like it's going to stay.

The $5 night cap option seems to have disappeared with the new site, could you confirm it is still there?

If it is, where should i now be looking for it?

Cheers

That part of the site is "under construction".

Which is a little unfortunately as I have been capped and can't purchase another data block. Cannot check usage either.
They should have moved the old site and kept it live before testing this new one publicly.

If you go here: https://myaccount.snap.net.nz/login/?next=/summary this will allow you to access the support pages once you've logged in and purchase more data or see your usage etc.
