I figured I would just continue "doing what I was originally doing" and wait for my first warning, then stop.

Your questions have been more than amply covered on GZ previously, and in any media, so not sure why the need to start another discussion on the same thing. That fact only 50 (or 30 in some media) turned out in Auckland speaks volumes IMO.

Personally, I thinks it's a wait and see situation now.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Personally I think that it speaks volumes about the promotion of it; I didn't even know about it until after it had already happened. It wouldn't surprise me if many other people were in the same boat.

I had no idea this was being done, unlike last year's protest in Wellington.

Ditto, knew nothing until it appeared in the Herald.

I totally agree with you!

Most people know that what they're doing is breaking the spirit of the law and would like to be able to get great content at a fair price.

I don't know if this law will deliver that, but my impression is it's part of the reason why many people wanted it.

I agree with you that we now need to see how it plays out.

Sure, if it gets abused, like has been suggested, then I'll be there pushing to get it repealed.

Personally I hope it takes away the excuse from content owners "there's no business model because of the all illegal sharing... blar blar..."

I hope that we see content owners step up and fill the demand void.

I also hope that this drives more awareness and adoption of the CC license.

Yes I must study the repealed process.

If anyone knows who put this law forward I would still love to know..

It seems in-line with overseas laws and they have been enforced
