First off let me say I'm Loving Android, I like to fiddle with stuff.

My second Q:

I can't seem to get another keyboard to appear in anything thet might want it..ie sms etc.

I have installed ICS keyboard full and Smart keyboard pro..but neitherof them show up when selected, just the stock HTC keyboard shows...I hav tried everything I can this of...

Any help appreciated

not sure on HTC setup but on samsung you need to go to settings, language and input and select there first.

Yep, done this, all appears right but doesnt go?

when ever I want to change keyboard types on android I just long press on any input field, i.e the place the typing appears in an sms and a menu appears and I can go into input selction and change it there.

In ics on my phone whenever you have the keyboard open there is a little keyboard in the notification bar that you pull down then have the option to select the input method.

Reon! Awesomeness mate..yeah, the standard press and hold doesn't work on 4.0 from the looks of it...cheers your suggestion worked.
