I have a parallel imported Galaxy SII, with SMO firmware.

what I would like to do is flash the CSC to the VNZ version so I can install the VNZ version of ICS 4

I've never done anything like this before and would like to know how I go about acheiving this, maybe someone who has done this before can point me in the right direct and tell me important things to do or not to do

Personally, I just rooted the phone, back it up using titanium, and installed the firmware manually using odin or odin mobile.
The firmware is available from sammobile.

www.sammobile.com  has the firmware and the software and guides.

Basically you need to download the firmware and program called Odin.

Backup your device

(I also remove the sim card and memory card)

Turn off the phone

Boot to recovery mode by holding Power Buttone Volume up and the home button, Clear cache and Data (warning this will erase all your data off the phone)

Turn off the phone.

Load odin select the firmware

Boot the phone to download mode by holding power, volume down and home button

Plug in the phone, wait for odin to detect it, click start.

The phone will reboot and should start ICS.  I've occasionally had problems and have had to boot to recovery and clear the cache and data again.

Once in ICS i'd check the CSC has been set properly dial  *2767*4387264636# and check that the end of "P-code" says VNZ. then you should be good to go.

This is a very quick guide and I wouldnt do it unless you are totally confident you know what you are doing. There are settings in Odin you have to set correctly. Have a good read up on sammobile and xda before trying anything

Do this at your own risk

There are product code changing apps available, however if you changed just the product code, Kies will not recognise the phone as the product code will not match the installed firmware.

The easiest way to do what you are asking is to download the Vodafone NZ build from here
http://fus.nanzen.se/

You may need to download the Checkfus utility and input the firmware details

This should be all you'll need here

The one and the same. Weirdly enough someone already had ugly_bob. Not sure why, I'm the only one I know who gets the reference..Maybe there's just someone out there called bob with low self esteem.

Anyway, back on topic.

Well I gave it a go last night, good news is I didn't brick my phone.

ICS 4.0.3 is installed and running, but now KEIS spit out the following error "your device does not support software upgrading via keis"

It looks like the CSC is still set to SMO??

PDA:I9100XWLP7
PHONE:I9100XXKE7
CSC:I9100VNZLP2

So whats the solution here to sort this out?

Dial *#06# and write down your IMEI

Then dial *#272*IMEI#

Does that give you the option?

Sometimes when I've flashed in the past its set vnz and I don't know why. Maybe it gets it from the sim? Was the sim in the phone when you flashed?

I'm not sure what you could do now, maybe factory reset and reflash with the sim installed?

Someone else might have an idea?
