I was wondering which is better on battery?

DATA

1) Turning WiFi OFF and just using 3G for data (I have 3 Gb) for all data needs
2) Leaving it on all of the time and using WiFi when it can.

I Was wondering because I thought that the 3G component eats battery when being used, bit also, leaving WiFi on all of the time makes the device constantly hunt for a connection.

SCREEN

1) Leave it on auto brightness
2) Or adjust it to say 50%

Again, I was wondering because if the system is constantly trying to figure out the brightness, does this use juice as compared to just leaving it at a moderate setting?

What is the story?

Cheers

I have an iphone. Wifi sucks through the battery rapidly. 3G is better.

If you need data only now and then and there is enough standard coverage, turning off 3G delivers more life as well.

High screen brightness also sucks through it. I set it low which is fine for using the phone and some browsing. For photos it needs tobe high and I use a shortcut to increase it. Auto brightness is not intelligent enough to do the job.

Also I go out of coverage a lot so I always set flight mode then to save power.

Andriod users I talk to have much the same experience.
