Phone is Huawei Ideos (HB4j1H), seemed fine this morning now its got a red light on the upper right corner when plugged in to charge, and nothing is happening.

I've looked everywhere on the internet, seems like other people have had this issue but no solutions. Any ideas? I'm happy to try anything, i.e. freezer, CRC, over charging etc etc.

I have a Huawei Ideos U8150 and I found that if the battery is completely flat you can only charge it from a mains adapter, not a USB port on a computer.

Even plugged into the mains it's just showing the red light. Do know someone with the same phone, so will try his battery when i get a chance.

I had this when I had one. I found if you leave it plugged in then after half an hour or so it'll USUALLY start working.

Also once the battery died completely and wouldn't charge at all it did this, see if it'll turn on without the battery in

Ick, seems poorly designed if it cant charge from dead on a PC USB port. Had a motorazr that did that, ended up hating it as a result since it would only charge from flat on _their_ mains charger.

Have had it plugged in to the mains overnight and NOTHING still. I've noticed that the red light turns off after a while, but unplugging and plugging back in brings it back. Bit odd.

Bit suspicious that its the battery. Usually when it goes flat it'd make this loud jingle then switch itself off. Nothing like that this time.

Have you tried completely removing the battery and reinserting? If the phone has frozen with the screen off it might show this behaviour.

Yeah the battery has been in and out quite a few times, plus i've tried removing the SIM and the micro usb. I've also tried a Nokia 6100 battery in it (same voltage and the + and - is in the right place), but nothing at all.

One thing i have noticed is the red light does the exact same thing if the battery isn't plugged in.
