Is there an app that will enable us to do this: one of us has a shopping list on his/her phone, the other person thinks of something to add. So it gets entered on a second phone and then automagically gets updated on the first phone i.e. synced.

The answer may be obvious but googling didn't throw up anything immediately.

Looking for something as simple as possible - if it exists.

Our groceries. It is in the play store. Very good. Multiple platforms. Free with ads or a small fee for the pro Verizon.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Thanks. Amazing really - I expected maybe some sort of note app that might suit what I am trying to do, but this is exactly and specifically on point. Brilliant.

It turns out there are heaps of apps that do what I was looking for. The relevant key word was 'groceries' which I had not thought of. Our Groceries app looks fine and can be made very simple - which is what I was hoping. As hairy1 says, syncs across iPad, my HTC One and my wife's Galaxy S2. Really very good.
