Does anyone know of a cheap source of batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S3?

I've looked on Trade Me and there are hundreds of cheap ($5+) "compatible" batteries but none of them say they have an NFC chip in them, so I'm assuming that for $5 they don't.

I also found a few "new original Samsung" batteries going cheap.  Since they're original I would imagine that they have an NFC chip, but the auction listing doesn't say.  Some of these have also been in the sub-$10 price range, I don't see how they can be original and yet so cheap.

Vodafone's online store has originals for $39.95

Buy an original, the cheap copies drop off in capacity very quickly and as you say don't usually have NFC. Maybe wait till Noel Lemming or someone have 20% off to save a few bucks.

Absolutely. Or eBay etc. While originals are possible, you can't guarantee it. Hardly worth the risk.

Ok, so Trade Me is out.

Adriatica has a nice battery / charger combo. It would be nice to be able to charge the extra battery while it is out of the phone, so this might be a goer.

$39.95 from Vodafone sounds pretty rreasonable. I purchased my last S3 battery from Samsung NZ for $38 + gst + freight. Send them an email and ask for a quote, they might have come down in price.

I think Noels still has those packs with an extra charger included, 2 cases as well as a flip case, might be worth getting them to chase up one of these packs. Else you should go for a ZeroLemon battery and not worry about charging your phone for a week heh.

Else try contacting TalkIsCheap who are a part of Telegistics to see if they could source you one.
