Hi

I have never done an android update and I have a few questions about doing them.
An update for my Vodafone(but on 2 degrees) HTC one sv(4.2.1) for android 4.2.2 has just came through.

If I do this update, does the phone reset to factory settings?
Do I need to back everything up?

I'm typing this on the phone concernd so appologies for spelling, or incoherent sentences.

I've upgraded my htc one and one x in the past when the phone told me there were updates available.
All I did was click to accept the update while phone plugged into the charger and wifi connected and away it went.
All apps and data remained unchanged.
Would advise backing up the important data..just in case something went wrong. But for me it was click update accept and that's it.

A.

Titanium backup, or Nandroid backup if your phone is rooted, which it's probably not if you're getting those notifications.

Upgrades don't affect your data, but backup occasionally just to be safe. Keep the backup on your PC.
