Not much different than a disposable prepaid phone and SIM card combo paid with cash in terms of identifying someone. Connection points - numbers called, etc are the key flags but if used once and "burned"...

Remember phones initiate calls with SIM + IMEI information. If you change the SIM the phone still sends the IMEI anyway. To be a bit safer you have to use a new handset with a new SIM every time. But then if you call someone "flagged" and voice recognition gets you then they know a general location.

There isn't much of "private" in this business.

I doubt it'll take off. Privacy isn't seen as important by most, and if you try to push for it, people look for your tinfoil hat.

By the time the facebookers and twitterers realise how important privacy is, it'll be too late. I'm not sure how we're going to get it back either.

If you get that desparate, use a 3rd party app to make the calls over IP and run it through an encrypted VPN.
