I'm still on 4.2.2. I didn't want to risk getting Knox and it works fine. I'm waiting for official 4.4.2, then I'll wait for someone to remove Knox, then I'll upgrade.

Joker you are most of teh way to putting another rom on that will give you access why not just flash one, nothing to lose you are already rooted on custom recovery so counter is tripped regardless. Remember you can always restore your backup but why would you go back to 4.2.
Mine has been rooted since day 1. I've since flagged the warranty and am running 4.4.2. Simply locate the correct Philz kernel on XDA and odin flash it. Mine has been rooted for long enough that I no longer have any idea which version you'd need to root the Telecom 4.3 rom.
If you're planning on going straight to 4.4.2 then odin flash the stock rom (modems etc otherwise your wifi will not work), then the latest rooted kernel, then you can enter recovery and flash whatever rom you like.
