When TV 3 news or current event shows are on, they can be viewed live from:

http://www.3news.co.nz/Video/3NewsLiveStream.aspx

I use this quite a bit to watch the news or Campbell Live/Paul Henry show on my desktop but wanted to know if it's also possible to watch on my Android phone?

When i go to the site on my phone, it says "Error loading player. No playback sources found". I'm assuming this is because the browser doesn't support the type of video format?

Is there any app to get around this?

The TV3 news app is great but it doesn't include live TV either.

I actually found this stream awhile ago...
http://www.3news.co.nz/Live-stream-Labours-leadership-vote--/tabid/1568/articleID/277411/Default.aspx
It was originally a Live Stream for the Labour Leadership, but it livestreams all 3 News Shows.  It's flash, compared to the Windows Media Player stream that is in the link you provided.  I find the flash stream better than having to use Flip4Mac on OS X.
One option would be to use that stream and install flash, which is doable even though no longer officially supported.

My original link is also using flash - noticed it must have recently changed as it used to be WMP plugin.

Any easy way to install flash on android?

You can install the last supported version of flash for android and playback flash based video streams pretty easily. You just need to use Firefox of Dolphin browsers to view the stream (Chrome doesn't work). Also, after you install Flash you may need to restart your device for it to work.

I recently did this so I could watch sports streams on my nexus 7. I can't see why it wouldn't work for TV3.
