Is there a way for alarms (not notifications) to sound even if the profile is silent? For example at night I put the phone in silent because I don't want notifications coming in, but I still want the alarm to go off and make a noise in the morning.

On mine (g4) the alarm goes off if it is in silent mode.

I'm pretty sure that does it automatically. The alarms should sound even if the profile is silent.

If not, go into Settings > Sound > Volumes. Then adjust the "Alarms" slidebar for the volume. Different Android versions will of course be different, but generally it's in the Sound settings.

Ok, will have to test more today as this morning nothing happened - I noticed the phone (HTC One) on but no sound.

I use a profile scheduler. It allows you to set the volumes separately by time of day/location.

That sounds a bit funny - pun intended :-) I've never had any issues with this on the android devices I have our have had. On my Galaxy Note II, Volume Ace automatically puts my phone into silent mode at night but the alarm still sounds and wake me before the profile changes to 'normal' later in the morning.

There's possibly a setting in your Clock/Alarm app to make the alarm audible even in silent mode.
