So over at Samsung NZ's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SamsungNZ they had a competition to win an S5 by guessing a phone number to dial. The first to call the number wins

There were clues given each day for the last few days
Here are the clues:

The answer to question 1 is 21 hours, The answer to question 2 is 4, the answer to question 3 is 2mp, and the answer to question 4 is obviously 5
By these I would assume the number would be something like 021 4 2 5

And now they say someone won it and that The correct number was 021 364165. How do you get that number from the clues you were given, WTF

Lol someones stuffed up.

16mp = rear camera so if they blindly put that, clearly they would have got the correct number regardless  of it being right.
and I don't find anything that says 36hrs. but then they say standard, and for all we know the normal 21hr rating may be for LTE/4G mode.. I guess there is a chance in 2G/3G mode there could be a different rating. But the main spec doesn't mention it

No,

21 hours talk time is the GSM arena specs.
It would have been 02x 21425, so incorrect it isnt funny. They won off fluke.

I should complain and get a free S5 then sell it and get a Z2.

Samsung just posted now

Sorry guys! It looks like we've made some mistakes with our Call N Collect promotion. We are very sorry this has happened.

To make up for this, we are going to issue a simplified version of the promotion, and award a new winner. We will post a new number with two missing digits and a new clue. The first person to call this new number will win a Galaxy S5.

We will post the new number and clue on Sunday 6th July at 12:05 pm (lunchtime).

Competition is open to NZ residents only.

Begs the question.

How did that person win the prize?
Maybe leaked from within samsung. As nothing there makes sense. Specs dont show the battery life being 36 hours. sure its a fluke that the back camera was 16mp and etc. I feel sorry for 021 214165

Yeah was wondering that too. He must have been an insider information. No one would have even come close to guessing that number. The proof will be how long it took Mr molloy to guess and unguessable number

i feel sorry for all the people who were inadvertantly spammed by callers trying to claim a prize. look at the comments there are at least 3 numbers repeatedly said to be:

021xxxx is helen
021yyyy is mark
021zzzz is matt
matt has changed the voicemail to don't call me i'm not samsung

I was going to pipe up and say this.

I think that guessing a number is random. The poor people that had their numbers guessed. If i was Matt i would submit a complaint to Samsung.

I would think being given a brand new S5 would be appropriate for the people above adversely affected.
