Hi - I couldn't find anything on this forum regarding tweaks for the Lg G3.

I have the LG G3 D855 International Model, purchased from PB Tech a few weeks ago. So, being an Android user who likes to modify my phone my first response was to look into any custom roms, rooting etc. Unfortunately, being a new model of phone and possibly not as popular as Samsung there is little out there at the moment.

Here is what I have done:
- Used stumproot to brute force the root.
- Super SU to allow root access permissions
- Titanium Backup (haven't backed up yet) I used this to delete a couple of system apps.
- Installed LG G3 TweaksBox from the playstore and bought the unlocked version. It's really straight forward and I have since disabled battery full notifications, skinned the pull done menu, set call log to default phone display and a few more.
- Increased volumes on speaker, headphone and aux following this http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-headphone-speaker-volume-booster-t2819821
- Used trickstermod to set governors as desired.
- Additional apps I have used Root File Manager, Xposed Installer, busybox on rails, 920 text editor, root checker.
- Enabled all apps on dual window. Find the tutorial at lgg3root.com
- I don't think there is a working version for TWRP or CWM for this model yet. So be careful.
- Phone can be unbricked if any problems occur (lgg3root.com) but I had no problems so assume you probably won't either.

While I am no expert and actually usually bumble my way through mods I thought it'd give some idea about things to do.

As for the network I am with 2 Degrees on prepay bundle (Auckland). I knew that the phone should be 4g/LTE compatible but there was no option to select this in network settings - this confused me. 2 Degrees customer service wasn't able to offer any ideas but according to their 4g coverage map I should be receiving 4g.

So there is a hidden menu - access it by dialling 3845#*855# Go to LTE Only, Modem Settings, RAT Selection, and select the one you want there. I selected auto and it seems to default to 4G now.

While I am not intending to do any 'How to' posts thought that maybe some geeks out there would find this useful.

Cheers.

awesome. have you use Samsung galaxies before? I am getting annoyed at the interface and am considering other phones, but the only ones that appeal are the note 3/4, lg g2/3, iphone 6 plus ... do you have experience to compare?

OK - one more thing. I just soft bricked my phone by getting it stuck in a system.android fail over and over. The culprit was a sideloaded copy of XBlastTools - not sure if it's the actual software being incompatible or that some cracker made a bad copy which stuffed up my phone.

Oh well - booted to recovery cache wipe and factory reset...back to the drawing board.

PS - all the other stuff in my OP is good to go. Aviod XBlast Tools.

Yeah - I got tired of my GS3 so it was I ended up sticking with Cyanogen Mod. I just sold me GS3 but I was running Kit Kat 4.4.4 on it and it was snappy and fast. I am enjoying the LG G3, it's not to cumbersome or annoying and with a few mods it can be made more to your liking.
