I have a Konka 7" tablet which I am trying to do a factory reset on. My niece has locked herself out of it by forgetting her password. It is a password and not a pattern.

The tablet has a power button, volume + -, and a reset hole, - no home button.

I have tried all the options I can find but it won't reset.

I have tried to find the KONKA USB driver for it so I can connect it to my laptop and run a program to but have had no luck there either. I have installed the Intel Android Device USB driver but that doesn't work.

Windows does recognise that a new device is connected.

I think the tablet was purchased from Harvey Norman. There are no identifying numbers on it at all.

I look forward to any help I can get.

I found a solution at this link:

It involves installing the ADB Driver for USB and then installing Android Multi tool. A simple and elegant solution. I was able to clear the password and all the settings and apps were not affected.

The Android Multi tool file is a .rar which I unpacked using 7 Zip. I hope this helps others with problems with Chinese tablets.

I have a number of 10.1" tablets that I have ceased using as they seemed to get a lot of software on them (pre-loaded by manufacturer but not triggered for 6 months) that results in endless spam

Maybe a hard factory reset will give me 6 months of spam-less use again

Wish I could find a good generic Android system for the hardware

I did have one that was installed on tablets at my school but I think I must have deleted it. If I find it I'll post it up.
