My Sony XZ is running Nougat.
Occasionally it will insist on a PIN as well as a fingerprint "for additional security" which is annoying.
Why does it do that, and can I make it not do so?

when does it do it?
It seems to be random. I've got it set to ask for a PIN after power off overnight etc but it now randomly does it....
It's normally a time based thing. If you haven't unlocked it for awhile....
Got any BT devices? I use my watch as a trusted device.
That could be it I guess. My car stereo dates from 2005 so it does not really have BT capability. There is a Parrot wired into it but whoever did it (last owner not me) messed it up and it has a bad earth or something - the call quality is awful and the ability to transfer music to the system does not function at all.
I've got a Plantronics Voyager which I use in the car but certainly not every day. It's probably a function of my age but I do not feel the need to answer or otherwise interact with demands from the phone regardless of whatever else I am doing!
