I have two different handsets, one work, one personal (both Android 7). It's a pain to lug two phones around, so can anyone suggest an app that works that I can access the other phone's WhatsApp from? I used to have one called WhatsWeb (from memory) but it stopped working a few months ago.

Thanks in advance :)

Huawei App Twin on EMUI lets you log into two Whatsapp accounts on the same phone. Not sure that helps much though.

Latest Samsung Experience 9.0 has dual messenger support. Advanced features in settings menu. So that includes Samsung S7-S9 and note 8, maybe note 5? Not sure if note 5 got Oreo.

Sorry I should add, one is my Samsung Galaxy A3, the other is a Nokia 3, if that makes any difference.
I found a few web-based apps but a lot don't work properly (ie, the keyboard won't work).

You can install the "Island" App. This lets you setup a fake "Work" Profile using the official "Android for Work" subsystem.

Then you can install a version of WhatsApp in the Island.

Tada, two WhatsApps on the one phone :)

Okay, that worked a little too well. It deregistered Whatsapp on the other phone :(

You can only have WhatsApp on one phone at a time - sorry I thought you knew that :)

Yip, as expected. You can only have one valid "active installation" of WhatsApp. If you activate it on a new handset, it is no longer valid on the old handset. Unlike Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts and other chat clients where you can have multiple installations / active sessions on separate devices.

Most of the apps I've found use the web version of Whatsapp and they seem to work quite well, the issue I'm having is finding one that works.

If you really need to keep WhatsApp running on the second phone, you could also install something like Join or PushBullet on it, and have the second Phone push messages to your primary phone.   That way you'll always get a message straight away, and you can even setup PushBullet (not sure about Join, even though I use it!) to reply to the message.

The only limitation of this solution would be if you want to start a new message, you probably need to be in front of a computer with the web.whatsapp.com interface (That would be setup to talk to the second phone) so you can compose a new message.

A bit clunky probably :)

My Samsung A8 has a Dual Messenger mode which is located under Advanced Features in the settings menu.

Haven't used it but shows Whats App in the list of apps that are selectable for this feature.

May want to check if your Samsung A3 has the same feature.

you could have up to three on a galaxy s8/9 as long as you can confim the login code with a spare sim to go through the setup with.

dual messager, and also you can get a third via secure folder
