I have searched through google and tried so many things but windows ten will still not detected my phone for files transfer.

Have done all the basic recommend stuff set usb debugging mode on and MTP on etc. Also updated drivers and more still no go?

What is the next solution? Can you explain it easy for some like me.

Have you tried a different USB cable yet? I have seen cables that work for one thing but not another.

Just this weekend I plugged a GoPro camera to my computer using a cable I had on my desk and same thing happened. I then connected using the cable that came with the camera and it connected as MTP.

Always check the cable.

Nova 3i is USB-C connect so it'll be extra-sensitive to the correct cable / port combination - charge, data, charge/data, USB 3 or 3.1, it's just ridiculous the number of unwritten rules you need to abide by else you won't connect successfully - without visible error codes too. I find that using a USB 2 port if you have one, often seems to calm that clusterflock of various USB-C protocols right down.

Do you have a bunch of other brand phone drivers installed already? This gave me issues with accessing Huawei devices until I uninstalled the lot - Samsung, Sony, Google, Oppo, Xiaomi & the Huawei ones too - every Android driver got removed then I reinstalled the newest Huawei drivers - now I could access the phone storage directly. When you add the competing & very different versions of Android to that USB-C mess, it's no wonder people have problems with basic access.

I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to be making it more difficult if you don't use their built-in Android phone access feature either. Have you tried to connect using that invasive little monster?

There's also what feels like the supervised method - are you using the Huawei HiSuite app? When you first connect your phone to PC, Windows should identify a virtual CD drive hosted by your phone. That virtual CD has the downloader for HiSuite on both phone & PC. Install on both, use the generated code to pair them & now you've got a reasonably functional Huawei phone manager on your desktop.

HiSuite, SmartSwitch & the rest are a pale shadow of what really can be done by a desktop phone manager. The freeware 3U Tools app is an excellent example of a PC Phone Manager - sadly it's iOS only.

Megabyte - so geek it megahertz
