I thought I'd start a new thread - the Tips'n'Tricks is getting incredibly long, despite MF's threats of locking the thread!

Ok...Froyo is finally installed on my device - the first thing I looked for was the "Move To SD" feature for apps. However, a lot of mine are greyed out! Things I tried to move were Google Goggles and Sky Map. I haven't googled further for potential clues but I thought I'd ask here anyway.

Other than that, what's everyone's take on this upgrade? I haven't noticed an awful lot of difference - everything is still the same as it preserved all my settings, etc. I use LauncherPro and it preserved that too.

How'd you get it mate? OTA?
Since mine is from Asia it may not get this rollout I'm guessing....

Yup - I got it OTA but I checked for it manually.

Only 5 of my apps have been written to go to the SD card, I guess as Froyo rolls out, app devs will enable SD card storage. Nztechfreak mentioned a couple of HTC widgets called coin and dice but I have no idea what or where these are?

has the FM radio improved.like a equaliser?Aslo battery life with GPS on ill be interested if improvement!

The reason you can not move some of your apps is that the version of apps2sd provided is controlled by the developer and they need to enable the option. From what I understand a very large number of apps in the market place will need to be updated to enable the option if the developer choses to enable it.

The latest version of Google Sky Map installs to SD automagically. You may need to update before you can move it.

Either its new or I havent noticed before, but under settings, voice input output, you can choose English (New Zealand) Choice bro!

I read somewhere that a download will be posted on XDA soon but it didn't say what the install procedure is. I imagine it will be quite similar to the part of installing a ROM after rooting your phone? No idea...keep an eye on XDA I reckon...

Any reason why you don't want to do OTA? Over WiFi it was painless, quick, and cheap if you do it on a free network (eg. your own) :o)

I'm all excited and impatient for this froyo update, which is probably a bit daft if it doesn't make all that much difference

i hope the update makes the music player a bit more stable - I get so many FCs with my 32GB card

I think you go to Settings -> About Phone -> System Software Update and there's a button at the bottom of the screen to check for updates. Click that and it will check for updates.
