Hey,
I have just formatted my SD card because my HTC Legend gave me the message that I had a "Damaged SD Card". Doing this I have lost all my music that I had on my phone, I was fine with this because I knew how to put music back on to my phone (By dragging and dropping the music files into the SD card folder).
However since I have formatted the SD card the SD cards folder (Backup) is not showing when I connect my HTC to my PC.  

So how am I supposed to put music on my phone??

How do you usually USB connect the phone to the PC? 

Do you use the USB connect function on the phone?

SOLVED.
Im quite the stupid one.
All I had to do was drag and drop my music files anywhere in the phone and it automatically synced them to the SD card. Fail.
