hey everyone,

just wonderning if there is a way i can make a website link an icon on my home screen, in this case 'facebook.com' as I just find the actual website easier to use than any facebook apps ive seen. btw i have an HTC Wildfire if that makes a difference.

Just create a bookmark in the browser, then add a shortcut to that bookmark ("+" -> Shortcut -> Bookmark -> select bookmark).

Unfortunately the icon will be an ugly bookmark image. I haven't found a way to change that.

The other option is when you're in Browser (or Internet, or whatever it's called) go to the Bookmarks screen. If you long-press a bookmark, a menu will appear and one of the options is "send to Home" or something similar.

Quite handy for websites that don't have an Android app. :)

Worked great on my Nexus One. :-)

You can also use the app FolderOrganiser to change the shortcut icon of the bookmark on your desktop (among other things).
