I see Julius Spencer (known here) has just released Power Up v1.04 into the Android Market.

If you're a powershop.co.nz customer (I am) then this app will let you:

1 Enter meter readings. Especially useful if your Android phone can't do Flash or you want a nice, big, easy to use dialog.

2. See the current meter estimate (not actual reading, their estimate, based on recent readings) from Powershop

3. See many useful details about your account, like the ICP number

4. Buy power if your account is in deficit and you have no units.

It costs $1. I bought it. Support the dev! :-)

Thanks to Julius!

I can't find this in the market. Is it limited to specific devices?

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Hi,

It's designed for 2.1 update 1+ (API 7) so there is a possible 17% of people who won't see it when searching in the Market. Hopefully this % will continue to decrease. The only requirements on the device is a touch screen.

Regards,
Julius.

Hmmm.... I just put froyo on my Samsung Spica and still can't find it. Is it tied to hardware id's?

Cheers Matt

Hi,

I'm no sure why you can't see it... did your search include a space (ie. 'power up')?

Cheers,
Julius.

Hi,

Hmmm well it is only available in New Zealand - that's the only other restriction I can think of. Could that possibly affect you?

Regards,
Julius.

Yeah I can't find it either - but I am indeed using a modded phone so if it's available in NZ only I possibly won't see it.

Could you please provide the *.apk file for those with modded roms like me who can't see it? (Also please provide a paypal donate link so people can pay you) :)

Hi,

Interesting. Ok I've added in some countries and would like to know if the application shows up now for anyone who was unable to find it.

Regards,
Julius.

Still can't see it here. Not sure what country my phone would be giving to the market. Is there a way to find out?

Ok. After some investigation with market enabler from the market my country is currently set to 53001 which is vodafone nz. So country mustn't be the problem..

Cheers.

I can see it with:

Samsung Galaxy S / Android v2.2 "JP6" (Nordic version of Samsung Froyo - so not Vodafone NZ)

Vodafone 845 / Android v2.1

I've now bought 2 copies... :-)

Works great.

In both cases, my Google / Gmail Account is explicitly a New Zealand account.

By the way there is a bug of sorts I just found out about - if you are using Opera Mini authentication won't work. Chrome works fine which should be available in most, if not all, cases.
