This is in regards to a Samsung i5510

The problem is to do with WiFi networks, the first time the phone connects to a WiFi network it works perfectly but thereafter it just doesn't connect, just gets stuck obtaining an IP address then disables the network.

Didn't find anything searching here but Google searches show this is a common issue, for eg:

Search One

Search Two

I have updated the router firmware and tried setting a static IP for the phone but it still won't connect which is really annoying.

Next thing I will do is set the router to reserve a specific IP address for the phone's mac address then rename the WiFi access point to see if it'll let it connect back up.

Anyone else suffering this issue?

Common problem for the samsung.

A hard reset seems to fix it but you'll have to reload your settings and apps - but after that you should be fine.

I had this problem on my Nexus One. It wouldnt connect so I had to set-up my Router again, New Name + Password. Since then Wi-Fi has been fine.

Right, I tried changing the WiFi AP name and also the network name on the router but no luck so did a factory reset on the phone and it now works. Router has reserved an IP for the phone so hopefully it'll still be working tomorrow!
