Hi There!

If you are returning from the USA around that time, and would consider purchasing an electronic item on my behalf whilst there, and bringing it back to me, I'd pay a $50 fee.

Please PM me if you are in a position to assist. The value is $600 USD.

Keen for a Xoom then? :)

I think I'll wait until CTIA and see what Samsung announce. If their 8.9inch tablet is TouchWiz on Honeycomb I may wait for that, since its media prowess will be much better than stock HC. If its not TW then I may jump onboard for a Xoom too...

EDIT: OK, I'm pretty sure the 8.9inch one will be TW, at samsungunpacked the latest video shows its screen briefly and quite dimmed, but paused in 720p you can clearly see what look like TW widgets similar to those on the SGSII... Good thing that announcement comes out before 27th of March!

Yup Wifi only version. The Galaxy Tab looks compelling too, I wonder on availability however. Needs to be lighter, the XOOM is massively heavy after 10 minutes of holding it.

The Galaxy tab 10.1 is 600gm, so 130gm less than the Xoom. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is likely to be even lighter I would think.

Well, 8.9inch Samsung tab announced - TW Ux in place (exactly as I predicted above, hah!). Looks pretty ideal to me, 8.9 inches and a stunning 8.6mm thick with a weight of 470gms. Now just awaiting to see whether Samsung have included their trademark wide-codec video support on this one... Goodbye Xoom, you're out of the running for me!

I think you are right. It's a long wait though.

Had a look at the LG G-Slate? Looks compelling, the Galaxy Tab is lighter, but less spec'd in every other way as well.

Can't really see where the LG Slate is particularly outdoing the Galaxy Tab, aside from the 3D thing, which I could care less about... Its video playback won't be a patch on the Galaxy Tabs, thats pretty much a deal breaker for me...

Supports 720P Playback, what is it you want that isn't that?

Well, for one thing I'd like 1080p video playback, since we have HDMI out at our disposal. Main thing is wide-codec support though, Samsung's video player is without peer, and for me not having to transcode anything is important.
