They need reformatting to Fat32 in the device itself, but after that it works fine. Even works in my Galaxy S on Froyo, and my stock HTC Sensation - I suspect it will work in most SDHC compatible devices.

I've already nearly filled the card, oh well... look forward to 128GB cards next year? Better start saving now...

Lots more detail with benchmarks and so forth at http://www.androidnz.net/2011/09/sandisk-64gb-micro-sdxc-cards-confirmed.html

Thanks NZTechFreak, as always, leading the way with the latest findings.

It's mind-boggling to think we can potentially hold so much data on our smartphones. Makes you think how important it is to make sure we don't lose our phones and our confidential/private information!

Indeed... Makes me wonder how bad it could potentially be losing your phone if NFC payments are enabled...

Thanks NZtechfreak. Was looking at buying a 32gb card for my SGS II, but will save a few more dollars and buy a 64gb card instead.

My wife has an Asus Transformer so will be interested to hear how the card works in these once you've found your charger Smile

i dont think the problem is because of 'proprietary connections'. it is because you have TOO MUCH / EXCESSIVE electronic gadgets at home. i think it is about time you giveaway some of the gadgets Tongue Out

the price difference between 32GB and 64GB is massive!

this is why it is good to have those security software installed - remote wipe / lock etc2.

Yep, the price difference is massive. It's the same as the price difference was between 16 and 32GB cards when the 32GB cards came out. To be honest I expected it to be slightly more expensive, and had saved more money accordingly, so I don't feel at all bent out of shape about the cost to me personally.

Of course now that it was cheaper than expected I have some money knocking about in my gadgets fund... what do with it? Perhaps it should go towards a 128GB card for when they come out, because as you point out, I already have too many gadgets (its like one of those hoarders shows on television except I'm knee deep in gadgets and power transformers and chargers and cables and phones and hard drives....)

Maybe a giveaway in relation to the new blog is in order...

Can confirm this works in the Transformer too (although the music player was very slow to re-build the music library of ~25GB in comparison to every other device I tried it in).

Ok you should definitely donate the SDXC card to me now!

Cheers! I think in general it will be fair to say that my posts won't be as interesting as that one, not too often one random dude gets the drop on all the usual news sources for tech stuff...

Heck! I am still working up to a 32gb card! I need one, just have to separate the funds out from bills/cars/bikes!
I think I need 2 more jobs to fund my hobbies...
