For those who have the global version of the SGS II, this has just been put up on Engadget:

http://www.engadget.com/2012/03/08/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-ics/

Edit: And here's an FAQ/Advisory from Samsung:

Upgrade may be via Kies or OTA.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

There is a pretty stable build of 4.0.3 out on XDA forums for the i9000,

But not sure if Samsung will update it to ICS.  Yet.  They could pull a surprise in a few weeks :)

From what I've heard, the i9000 doesn't have enough ram to comfortably run both ICS and the Samsung UI

Most likely not. However, I doubt it'll take long for deodexed CWM-flashable package to turn up on XDA.

According to an update on the article on Engadget, it looks like it's not coming out on the 10th after all...

I got the official ICS for my SGII 2 weeks ago after the update the battery life was so bad I wanted to roll back to 2.3.5 but after some advice I did a hard reset / wipe and Battery life is better now than when handset was on 2.3.5

Hi - I've had my NZ Vodafone  Galaxy S2 gt-19100 for all of one week. I'd appreciate any quick pointers on how I can upgrade my phone to ICS?

- Kies - is this the 'Kies Air' app that came preinstalled on my phone, or is it PC-based software? If PC-based, can someone point me to a URL for download?

- Can I upgrade over WiFi, or do I need to connect to a PC?

thanks in advance

Would love to, but got higher priorities than getting a new phone. Unless I win lotto this weekend.

Hi - is ICS being rolled out selectively to Vodafone users? When I connect my Vodafone S2 to Kies, it says I am running the latest firmware (Gingerbread), and the 'check for update' function on the phone' says 'no update available.'

Yet other Vodafone S2 users are currently able to upgrade ... ?
