So I ended up messaging Spark on twitter, and I might be getting somewhere.

I have no information on a due date though if we are the official partner / distribute, they will be released in the near future. What I can do is take your email address, phone number and full name and send it off to the team who may have more information to see if they can get back to you with more details.

I did something similar re: talking to the Spark team and was told that the August update was approved at the end of August. However there was an issue at Nokia's end which should be sorted any day now.

Have been hammering the update button but no result so far.....

:-)

MackinNZ:

Like many others, my Nokia 7 Plus (TA-1055) has been stuck on the July update since, well, July.

Today I manually installed the first August update form the above link and it immediately downloaded the second August update but never offered me the September update.  Perhaps it would have if I'd waited a bit longer.

So I manually updated to Pie and now I have my phone happily working on Android 9.0 with a security patch level of 1 September 2018.

It's disappointing that this didn't happen automatically however, as that was one of the important factors in choosing this phone.

Exactly this. Was one of the main reasons for buying the phone. Have also updated manually to Android 9.0. Hopefully Nokia sort it out for future updates.

Just got the same confirmation as well :) Hopefully manually loading the OTA updates won't have prevented me from receiving further ones when they are released.

security update for August just came through but the sept one also came through for the Nokia 2, so still behind.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

They seem to be coming through in sequence.

Restarted after the August update and now I have another.

What build number did people end up on after installing them all? 00WW_3_22C (Pie with September security patches) or 00WW_2_22M_SP01 (Oreo with September security patches)?

I felt exactly the same -  I bought Nokia 7 Plus for exactly the same reason- Android One.

After few months of waiting and researching, I feel that it's the middle man - i.e. telco are the bottleneck and if they don't approve it - you are stuck. It happened not to NOkia handsets but other brands (tell me about it, previously I have to root myphone to get some updates!!)

Last few months I have been trying different ways, contact customer support, VPN to other country, cleanup cache, overseas SIM etc.. not because I want the altest but I don't feel comfortable not having my phone running the latest security patches, while you know there are some out there.

Android one kinda set our expectation higher - but TBH, having no updates from the mobile phone manufacturer is the worst. At least Nokia is making the commitment and producing the updates (although not making availabile through OTA is a different story).

So at long as there is a safe and easy way to get the "latest", I don't mind side loading it. I guess if one day , Nokia make those packages officially available rather than downloading from OTA.. .I will be 99% happy.

I've been stuck on the July update until today (so OTA updates only, no sideloading), and right now I'm on the August security patch (00WW_2_22M). Wonder when I'll get the other ones...

Damn, hasn't even been listed on https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/security-updates yet, know if it's for Oreo or Pie?
