What do you guys have your brightness set to?

The auto setting seems a bit dim in general to me. I like it a bit brighter.

just reflecting on scoring one for NZ$839 today .... how crazy is that?

just awesome luck with the timing of QB weekend i guess, but for a launch week price on the worlds best cell phone right now .... thats crazy.

i was honestly expecting to pay $1200 for the thing prior to the samsung unveiling .

I agree the auto setting is Shiite

I have mine set to around 35% at a guess. This is fine except for outside/direct sun

Oh man should I cancelling my pre order from JB and going with Noel Leeming pre order instead?
20% off is $912.20 which is a sweet price. Going to talk to JB Hi-fi tomorrow.
Can I have the link to the receipt? Please

Pretty darn good. I don't think you will get that sort of a price again for a while.

Hopefully I can score one tomorrow from JB. Otherwise Noel Leeming's deal goes on till Monday so heaps of time to secure one for that price.

Same here, wasn't gonna bother buying one at first without using a review unit for a couple of weeks until the Noel Leeming deal came up

Benjip: I checked one out at Vodafone today – was extremely impressed with how vivid the screen's colours were. I must say though, I could easily see pixels (must be the LASiK) which was a huge disappointment in comparison to my 4S' screen. Wasn't enough to put me off though.

I'm now seriously tempted to get one of these bad boys since the iPhone 5 won't be here before October. When you all say WHS, is that Warehouse Stationery?

Lasik - Money well worth spending in my eyes. (Thanks dad for the gift of vision).

Does the snapper app only work for 2Degrees?

AFAIK checking balance works for anyone but if you want payments you have to have a 2degrees SIM (or whatever there was of checking is)

defragger: Damn rang up JB again and they say they won't price match Noel Leeming as they only have 3 in stock and are selling them fast as it is (at $944).

Noel will be my best bet I think.

Thanks jeffnz for the pic of your receipt though. I might try to go into JB tomorrow morning to see if they can match it but won't have my hopes up.

JB hi-fi WILL price match - I heard it from the top - they had sent emails to all the stores.
If they have any left that is - I know St Lukes started with 30 units and only had 4 left at 5pm last night.

I got my S3 from Telecom last night. Just playing around with it today, its been on for 2 hours and i'm looking at what's using the battery. The cell standby is at 50%. Seems a bit excessive? On my previous phones its been closer to 10%. Anyone got any clues why this might be?

I paid $944 at JB Hi Fi in Bayfair yesterday.  They had 3 left in the cupboard afterwards.  This will work on any network.  Also gave 50% off a micro sim card and transferred my number to it then.
