Glengus:?
I was in the Palmy store this morning, they said they hadn't had any interest and that "no one knows they exist yet", you may have had the same salesperson as me, I actually pointed out he was trying to charge me half of what he should have been (when will I grow some balls)! ?JB in the plaza had some on Thursday but?didn't?have any on display, it could be worth trying them on for a match? ?Sounds like some have had success!!??

Norman Ross?guaranteed?me that they had the?cheapest?prices in town this weekend, I?don't?know if they have the S3 tho, worth a shot.... (i'm guessing you have tried if you were at noel leeming?across?the road though right?)

Noel Leeming in Palmerston North is a joke. Norman Ross has a few in stock. They will sell at $899. Trying to get them to price match lower now.?

Love your work

Warehouse Stationary will price match down to $797 on presentation of proof - happy with printouts of posts from here plus Noel Leeming's tweet: https://twitter.com/NoelLeemingNZ/status/208347015661359105
They don't have any stock left and this could result in a 1-3 week wait though.

Norman Ross still have stock in Palmy and were (eventually) willing to price match. $797 for the 16GB White. Sales guy raced next door and asked WHS if they really were offering the 25% off, which they are, then matched it - WIN!

mrtoken: Oh 1 thing that makes it a win in my books (and way better than s2)

IS THE LED
I have missed it sooo much from the time i had my nexus one

Now I can tell what kind of thing I have missed by what colour the LED is.

i.e. got it so facebook is blue, email is green and text message is pink

How does one customise this?

Hi, is anyone else bitterly disappointed with their S3 or am I the only one? I had lots of issues with S3 which I never had on S2.

such as terrible browser experience - text reflow issues, embedded video issues, stuttering pinch to zoom, crashing, juttery kinetic scrolling. Also aggressive background app killing.

I love my S3, and the short time I have had it, had none of those issues.

Seriously? Sounds like you're describing the One X there

Was playing around with desktop version youtube on 1080p before and it is far far superior to the One X, everything was really really slick, I could fly from top to bottom with no lag while the video was playing. One X would stutter to pluto and back. Only slow down I noticed is going out of fullscreen mode

Scrolling is a bit juttery but better than the One X. Havent spent enough time in the browser to notice text reflow issues or aggressive background app killing

Do you mean in the same way as iPhone 4 owners became disappointed in their iP4S? Where reality probably will never meet the expectation that the pre-release hype generates.

My regret at the moment is the realisation that I bought my HTC One X for $800 only 2 weeks ago in the knowledge that the SGS3 was being pre-sold at $950, which was kind of just too expensive. And now with the QB weekend sales the best price for a SGS3 is sub $800! Ah well such is life in the consumer electronics world.

However the benchmark has now been set. Why would anyone pay more than $800 for a SGS3 in the future?

Hopefully with such a great uptake of the SGS3 the suppliers will see fit to stock a decent range of accessories.

No I mean in the way that the S2 performs better than the S3. So here is what I mean. If you own an S3, go to guru3d, scroll down to their news posts and try reading it, at full screen the text is to small to read, so you zoom in but there is no text reflow. So reading becomes a process of side to side scrolling.

I tried seven browsers (default, opera mini, opera mobile, dolphin HD, dolphin mini, firefox, chrome) only opera mobile has text reflow - firefox has double tap reflow but that is an awful blinking black screen mess. So you might think just use opera mobile. but then there is the next issue, I loaded up netbooknews using opera mobile on both S2 and S3 at the same time, load the first news with video clip, click on the video clip on both devices at the same time, S2 loads without issue, S3 takes much longer to load if at all, most of the time it just gets stuck or crashes.

In terms of aggressive app killing. while I was testing out all these different browsers, I didnt close them down and just left them running. S2 was happy to have 5 different browsers running at once, while S3 only allowed two before it started killing them off. Sure you're unlikely to use this many browsers, but it does show limited multi tasking compared to S2.

These are only a few issues I've noticed

For anyone needing an invoice as evidence for price matching, here you go:

Norman Ross, $797.

Thanks to Geekzone - everyone that posted prices and stores here helped in providing the evidence the stores needed.

The tweet will be deleted at the end of this weekend.
