Did you do a nandroid backup before you flashed the new ROM? A backup is always recommended.

Try reinstalling the previous firmware, doing a backup, then having another go at the newer one. Can't hurt. Well, shouldn't hurt.

I must admit i usually don't. I've never had any issues in the past . My luck has run out :( Luckily Google+ backup picks up all my pictures from the phone but it's my messages I'm after.

I can only get to recovery, but luckily i can slip out the card and add it to a USB adapter and install the rom that way. Don't have an adapter handy unfortunately. Are there any roms that can be flashed via Odin but wont fully wipe the phone?

Put the previous ROM image onto your external SD card and flash it from the recovery.

When I was a noob I flashed my s2 every week. Never had a problem.

With the s4 I have encountered failed flash of anything about 50% of the time.

That's why I went back to stock + root + freeze

OK put the latest ROM on your SD and dirty flash it only wiping cache/dalvik. Once you get into echoe backup what you need. I know its pain but I always clean flash. If you back up everything with your chosen apps only adds and extra 10minutes to get back up and running. Unless you running a lot of crazy mods.

Let me know of this worked for you.

I think stock sammy doesnt usually wipe the phone? Cant guarentee it though, Best way would be to find an sd adaptor or use another phone to put the card into

Hey guys I'm back in biz!

It's a case of RTFM plain and simple here. Echoe 25.1 is not a standalone bootable rom, so it was okay when flashed over V24. problem was that when i wiped data, it wasn't able to boot, but after nosing the options in recovery, I saw you can mount USB, so was able to get the phone to show in My Computer. Phew! Loaded V25 and then i was good to go, then loaded V25.1 then my Titanium backups.

Well, I was very concerned when Samsung said they were doing away with the button, but I have to say, the pressure sensitive button for home is outstanding. Everything I could have hoped for, and with extra screen real estate I feel it's a win win.

I never lost faith in Samsung, even over their Note stuff, but with the Galaxy Tab S3, and S8, I believe the future looks bright.

Oops. Gotta pay attention. Considering the age of it, I am surprised it's not locked!
