domonation: I cant seem to find the S3 on the Noel Leeming website.
How should i order it?
Thanks
defragger: Tried integerisnumbers method. All colours seem fine.
And nope it's 720p video. The issue is also prelevant in the menus and other apps. Basically anywhere black is shown. It looks real bad, as if the screen needs wiping underneath or some weird dirty filter has been put on.
Are you sure I shouldn't worry?
Edit-
Can others check for this effect in dark menus and perhaps a black image. Wouldnt mind going in for a replacement...

For reference the 720p is fairly irrelevant to the question in hand, it's really the bitrate that matters. I've seen some shockingly low bitrate 720p material and although there are still 1280x720 pixels represented on screen they're "rubbish pixels" because of the lossy compression.
In any case, in relation to your problem it sounds like more than black crush if it's affecting menus and so forth, I'd take it in to be looked at I think.
domonation: how much is the full price at the moment?
domonation: If I preorder it, roughly how long will it take for it to be delivered?
Also, is it worth getting the S3?
Thanks
defragger: Alright I missed the black vibration test. Can see black lines and smudges when I carried it out. Same with a black image. The ink like lines are always in exactly the same place. It's not something that goes away and comes back, but is always present in dark black environments e.g menus, bootup screen etc Googled a few things and it does sound like black crush. But then again not sure.
What shall I do? I mean if everyone is experiencing some form of this problem then it's okay, but if I'm the only one in this thread that has it then maybe not so much.
What's the policy on replacement? I don't want to go into WHS and them telling me to sort it out with Samsung.
Man I never have luck with smartphones. Always have day one issues of some sort :(
Just remember 'your' contract is with WHS, 'their' contract is with Samsung. They should replace it then sort it out themselves with Samsung.
IronH: welcome to one of the flaws of AMOLED screens. It's a pretty common problem (google "AMOLED black splotches or blobs"). My S2 also had that issue though with only two splotches and was only visible in the dark with black backgrounds.
