It's going to be interesting on the streets tomorrow when a new breed of people emerge from long weekend hibernation. You will notice them - they will be sweeping their palms across phones and talking out loud to themselves.

The second coming of the Galaxy??

On another note, i never realized the Samsung Marble White case replaces the battery cover. Thats the one i wanted but my phone spends a lot of time in the car cradle. Could be difficult.

(Is it realise or realize, realised or realized? I was taught it in school but spell check is making things confusing)

Only query: the Noel Leeming phones are apparently 'Vodafone' ones - but I given that I'm with 2 degrees, I assume it will be easy to wipe/root/flash it to unlock it if it is indeed locked to Vodafone?

Hmm, interesting, I was told the Noel Leeming phones are 'Telecom' ones. As they are quad band, there will be no issues with popping another telco's sim card and them working.

The Galaxy hype certainly has built some momentum, have not had a single person refer to the new phone as an iphone (unlike when i got my S2), it would seem that the advertising campaign is working well as people that care less about smartphones recognize it as that new Samsung phone off the tellie :P

Samsung if you are listening... I would like a OEM replacement back cover in the same brushed silver finish as main body

Well after nearly a week of ownership I cannot fault this phone, the standout feature for me is the screen on battery life, it is phenomenal, I am also liking the latest TW implementation which is something I never expected! Haven't found a need to root it yet, but i am sure voodoosound will change that in due course

Noel Lemming had both Telecom ones and Vodafone ones available to pre order in their system.

Same here, waiting on my second one to arrive today too!

Will probably root mine when I test out the Sixaxis on it, and of course Voodoo sound

Seems to be smashing the sales records in the UK, even though most people are only able to get white:

networkn: I am going to put an FAQ in my first post to stop the endless questions about this device.

Anyone want to contribute?

Links to the Root guide would be helpful, otherwise they just get lost in the massive flood of posts here.

The Root guide is now updated too with instructions for returning your S3 to stock in case you have warranty issues :)

Elpie: Has anyone found any decent screen protectors? I wasn't going to put one on my new SGS3 but changed my mind after seeing reports that people are getting scratches.?

Just order like 10x of them.or something
They are cheap as chip anyway. I have order 10 and once came with the case. All screen protector is the same. Buying a cheap one isn't different from the expensive branded one. Just get yourself a few spares.

I might - if I could find any. The universal screen protectors are too small and I haven't managed to find anyone selling the custom screen protectors for the S3. I've already had a disaster with cutting down a tablet screen protector because it was too stiff to curve over the screen.

I posted a same question earlier about screen protectors and was told I shudn't need any...
and now people are mentioning about getting scratches...
I was thinking of buying these but not sure how effective they are, can any1 please advice...

I am loving my new S3 otherwise....awesome phone no problems so far!!!

The Matt finish blur the screen a little and it looks terrible, I have one on my phone at the moment.

They are really good for not showing finger prints but the texture refracts each pixel a little

Also with the curved edges of the screen mine seems to be lifted on some of the edges

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

I waited (the 2degress option is still cheaper for me than teh Noel Leeming 20% was) but now I read they have changed the "Pebble Blue" to "Metallic Blue".

Tips me back to a white one now.
