fatboy: So, am I the only one that was going to just carry it "naked" in jeans pocket, even without a screen protector? :)

Nope, I will be when I get one - my SGS II is still immaculate and it's never had a screen protector.

Neets: Who else ordered online and was charged immediately? It's against Visa regulations to do so but what's the point arguing that. Perhaps pre orders taken in store haven't yet been charged. No way for me to get any indication whether the phones have been despatched.

I went in store to pay for my WHS preorder, they insisted on it.  I've looked at my credit card statement and I've been charged for it.

I thought Visa were ok with paying for preorders but the merchant only has a certain amount of time to produce the goods (one month?)

Glengus: Telecom just called, my blue phone is in the country they say and they want to send it direct to me!

The chick also said come monday the price will have reduced by $200 so is giving me credit! Sounds like $850 might be available for all!

You serious? $200 discount? It might be a deal from Telecom NZ instead of the actual price. They might be doing a cheaper plan deal with $200 discount for 24months. So I guess it is not going to be retailing price discount.

Consider $850 they would hardly make anything from the phone at all. May be a few bucks but probably not enough to pay for the custom duty fee when importing it into NZ.

Same here. Cases are for girls who carry their phones around in their handbags Wink

Nope, I never use protection with my phones.

It is a bit strange, they are giving me the phone free anyway but said as the price has dropped now they will give me $200, could be a mix up but works for me!

Lucky. I was told by Noel Lemming my Blue 16GB would be here this week. I just called them and it still hsn't arrived. I might pop into the store on my way home and see if they have arrived since I called.

Nice to know NL are saying something other than 'we have no information for you and you were told there will be a very long delay in stock arriving'.

I should probably sort out this micro-sim business.

I'm with Vodafone pre-pay at the moment. Shall I get them to cut my sim or buy a new micro-sim and get them to transfer my number over? Anyone else in a similar position?
I'm planning to stay with Vodafone pre-pay for now....

I'm in exactly the same situation as you.

How hard are they to cut yourself, without one of those cutter thingies?  Is there a template somewhere?

I think it costs $30 to get a micro SIM at a Vodafone store.

I've ordered my cutter from Ebay about a week ago. And if you're living close by Hamilton then I'll be too happy to help you cut your SIM when my cutter arrived.

I just called NL and the CSR told me that they do not have any in stock and will be sometimes after the mid of June though to be precise the date would be 17th June. That is what he said.

I paid $15 to get my vodafone on contract sim replaced with a micro sim, they have adapters for a few dollars too.
