Hopefully these posts in response to a couple of our questions on Samsung Mobile NZ's Facebook wall will quell some of the concerns with those like myself who were told 2-3 month delay by NL staff.

Just got mine (Pebble Blue 16GB) from NL on Tristram Street, Hamilton. Got the call at 16:19 today.

When I turned up an hour later and asked for it, the floor staff were surprised: "Oh - are they in now?!" - so think I have a (very minor) claim to fame of being the first to pick up from NL Hamiltron (city of the future indeed!).

Interestingly I'd pre-ordered the Vodafone one, but got the XT-branded one (as evidenced by the boot logo). I can't stand Telecom (long story short it involved no POTS phone for three months because the "exchange is full"), so it's an added incentive to root the phone and flash a modded ROM asap.

Very, very nice screen and soooooo much faster than my lunky ol' Hauwei u8150!!

now got my 16gb white XT phone, turned up as promised, my brother checked with brightstar, the 32gb has no eta at the moment, he suspects that it will be closer towards end of the month, and it will be VF supplied only, telecom stores wont be stocking them

I guess you've tried trade me. Quite a few cases on there, all shapes / sizes / colours.

If you could wait a bit, ebay is always a good option - cheap & free postage in some instances, but can take a wee while to arrive sometime.

Closing Facebook - To close Facebook completely is simply press hold Home button and swipe left/right to kill Facebook process/cache. This will kill Facebook but when you reopen it then it will take longer to open and loading again. Otherwise you can simply log out every time you're done with your Facebook session.

Best music app: Stock Music app is already good enough, but you can try PowerAmp or Google Music Player from Play store.

Best advise to save battery is to turn things like GPS, S-Voice and sensors that you don't need off. Also disable Google Photo/Picasa Album sync from your Google Account syncronisation. This would save both battery and Data.

Turn off Accounts that you don't need in Settings > account sync.

Set Brightness of the Display to Automatic, Capacitive buttons=1.5s, Auto adjust screen power=On.
Turn off NFC, and Screen time out set to 10s or 30s.

Change browser Brightness to Automatic, do not use Live Wallpaper (save battery).

These are a quick tips I have for you :)

Yus! My MicroSDXC 64G class 10 off eBay is here. Running full write test right now.
Seems to be legit. Speed test found read at 20MB/s and write at 19MB/s with memory to USB adapter on my computer.

Yes the review he made is good :) but the video he made can sometimes be very quiet then some part is extremely loud lol. For example in the latest review. I was not able to hear him properly for 5mins even maxed out my volume but 5mins after it was a thunder lol scared the life out of me when his volume is up again.

Still working out kinks in the audio I'm afraid, that was a mammoth effort of editing though - some parts were narrated after the fact and parts with games/video/USB audio had to be recorded on the cameras mic (those are the loud bits, even though I adjusted their volume a lot).

...also, nice! Good to return to the front page of Phonearena, and this time with something a little more worthy than the pocketability video for the Note! I wondered why my email was suddenly going crazy with new comments and subscriptions!

Ah no worries, the audio kinks aren't really an issue. I was too engrossed in the video to really notice the audio, and I'm sure the camera stopped started, paused often in between setting up the different connectivity issues. Solid effort. Keen to explore all of the usb otg options when I get mine. Thanks for this video! As usual, I'll be watching the part of your review re media playback. The 1080p playback was impressive. Are you using MX as your default now? Going to find some 10 bit HD videos to try on my S2.

tried my ps3 controller via OTG tonight ....works perfectly just as NZTF says ...virtua tennis has full analogue stick control. game changer.

Well, after half a day of playing with my SGS III, am very impressed. In terms of size, I think this is the maximum sized phone that I comfortably use in one hand. No idea how the Samsung Note can be used if you have small hands.

I've also got a couple of stuck red pixels - using Dead Pixel from the Play store to see if that helps, otherwise it will be back to NL!
